The Summer Classic is a basketball league that runs from June through August in the St. Francis de Sales schoolyard and gym. Games are played Monday through Friday between 5:30 and 10:00. The Summer Classic is separate from St. Francis CYO and is not included as part of your CYO registration.
Competition is organized by age, beginning with those who are completing second grade, through those who have just graduated high school. Registration is available to all parishioners of St. Francis de Sales, and then to others on a space available basis. Additionally, there are Men’s and Women’s Open divisions that accept entries by teams on a space available basis through a different process. The Graybeard Basketball League is also associated with the Summer Classic.
Registration this year for the Grammar School and High School Divisions will only be from May 1-May 22. Priority for acceptance will first be for SFDS parishioners, next to previous Summer Classic participants, and finally to new non-parishioners. Please first read the St. Francis Summer Classic General Rules then download and print the 2023 St Francis Summer Classic Application.
Mail the completed application with check payable to St. Francis Summer Classic. Only the correct 2023 application will be accepted and envelope must be postmarked by 5/22. You must send a separate check for each child. Cash is not accepted. Your registration fee includes a uniform shirt in addition to the games. You will be contacted by your child’s coach shortly before the first game. Schedules will be distributed at that time.
